Dear AnswerBank Community,

Wow. £187.24 this month so far! Your generosity since my comments last night have been a promising start, and we are truly grateful.

In total, there are tens of thousands of users who rely on The AnswerBank every month. If even a small portion of these users gave a few pounds regularly, it would help us maintain and improve the platform.

As mentioned, how much we are making through Donations is transparent and they can be made anonymously as far as other users are concerned.

You can keep up to date with where we are with Donations in this thread: https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/AB-Editors-Blog/Question1808295.html

The thread also explains why we are seeking donations and if the current level of donations continues we will be able to release some more information about improvements we are planning to make, that to date have not been possible.

Once again, thank you for your support, and with your contributions, we can ensure The AnswerBank remains a valuable resource for everyone.

Hi Ed ,I was about to make a donation yesterday Sun 13 March . Then an over zealous mod deleted my thread ,, so I didn't.
Making a donation doesn't entitle you to break Site Rules.
Gulliver1, your thread was reinstated this morning.
Very polite Ed
11,27 Guess what MKIA ....I was not breaking Site Rules...OK.
Whatever you were doing, Gulliver, your removed posts haven't been reinstated along with the thread so you must have been doing something wrong.
11,39 The removed posts were not mine , and being a mod yourself you know very well they were not .OK.
I didn't see them Gulliver.
The thread is back, if there has been a misunderstanding about who posted what, I am sure we can all just move on...
///improvements we are planning to make///

Jam tomorrow ! ! !
Now any misunderstand has been cleared up - and I think it has - we can indeed move on, corby.
*misunderstanding
// Whatever you were doing, Gulliver, your removed posts haven't been reinstated along with the thread so you must have been doing something wrong. //

The Editor appears to think otherwise -

ED Blog. "We're Asking for Donations. here's why" Aug 28th 22..
Section 3, post at 07.56, Monday 29th August 22.
A then poster, complaining of Mods targeting the poster, opposed to the post. Interesting reading.
And Gulliver apart from thanking Ed are you going to apologise to Naomi for putting a thread up last night blaming her for removing it when it appears it was nothing to do with her at all?? It didn't last long but I saw it.
AH, you misunderstand - poor wording on my part probably. I know the thread has been reinstated but without the removed posts. I read SpareEd's post too.

Now we can - hopefully - move on - so I'll add my two pennyworth regarding the OP. When we were first to donate I set up a regular monthly amount to be transferred but due to a 'secret' mod's attitude towards another poster, I cancelled it. However, having read Admin's recent missives, I've reconsidered and I've reached the same conclusion I came to in the first place. Despite its faults - real and perceived - and its members' quirks and foibles - real and perceived - we all like AB for our own reasons which is why we're here. It's entertaining, it's helpful, it's company, it's a lifeline to some, and for those of us who have been around for about a hundred years, it's become part of everyday life. Therefore since we are all here it's reasonable to assume that few of us would really like to see it disappear. I shall therefore reinstate my monthly donation forthwith. Onwards and upwards, AB - and all the best..
Prudie, I didn't see that but thank you for mentioning it. I didn't remove Gulliver's original thread - or that one.
Gulliver didn’t accuse Naomi of deleting the thread, Prudie.
Oh then I misunderstood the meaning behind thank you naomi, my thread is now gone. It may not have been those exact words.
On which thread was that?
