Does anyone have any ideas which book we could read for our Christmas meeting.
We would like a book either set at Christmas or one with a strong Christmas theme. We don't want " A Christmas Carol" though .It is a group of ladies ranging in age from mid twenties to sixties. Thanks in advance.

Skipping Christmas by John Grisham is complete departure from his usual style of courtroom/lawyer novels and could make for a lively discourse

Sherlock Holmes short story 'The Blue Carbuncle'. Agatha Christie 'Hercule Poirot's Christmas' are my first thoughts. Don't recommend Dickens' 'The Chimes' bit it might be OK if you want a challenge.
666 'but' not 'bit' - Oh for an edit button!
Hogfather by Terry Pratchett
Little Women?
The Holy Bible
A Child's Christmas in Wales - Dylan Thomas
A Christmas Memory - Truman Capote
Miracle on 34th Street - Valentine Davies
The Christmas Train - David Baldacci
Holidays on Ice - David Sedaris
Hercule Poirot's Christmas - Agatha Christie
The Gift - Cecilia Ahern

(Out of that lot, I'd definitely opt for David Sedaris).

The Act of Roger Murgatroyd by Gilbert Adair - a playful Agatha Christie spoof which works perfectly well as an old-fashioned whodunit itself. Set at Christmas and truly delightful!
I'd second Buenchico's suggestion of David Baldacci's "The Christmas Train", much lighter in tone than his usual offerings, with a neat twist at the end.
