Having had one of the dogs put down (terminal ill-health) last night, I see that I have a doctor's appointment today. Hope he doesn't think like the vet !
Still feeling smug after telling my accountant where to get off, yesterday. He's 2 hours drive away. I refused to go; the worm has turned ! Who is paying who? I do wonder about some professionals. What is this obsession with face to face meetings ? Have they not heard of the telephone or Skype or conference calls? There is absolutely no need for most face to face meetings, yet the professions seem stuck in the C19.
Anyway, it is now dry outside, but the forecast is rain. If it rains enough, I won't have to water the dogs, since they have big troughs that fill in heavy rain. Always a model owner and poster boy for the RSPCA, that's me
Well, ummmm, I'm better off than the dog! Although I should be hardened to such things, being with dogs all my life and brought up in farming, I was surprised how difficult I found parting with her. I'd bred her, she was plainly not long for this world, but terminating a life is always difficult
No, that's not her in the avatar, ummmm. She was what we now call a cockerpoo but which I see as just a crossbreed [Miniature poodle sire, American cocker spaniel dam]. We didn't have cockerpoos when she was born ! The avatar shows a Hungarian Puli, which fits my user name. I still have seven dogs here, none of them, oddly, being Pulis now.
Morning Fred..
So sorry about your dog but kinder to put her to sleep. I've never had to do it but it must be hard.
I hope all goes well with the doctor's appointment. I was thinking about you the other day Fred and in law, you go out to win dont you? (however bad it looks) and you have to be creative sometimes when things are stacked against you otherwise you've got no chance. I think you have that in you so I'm really optimistic for you. Do look into what is being said about the Vit C and cancer Fred please. I'll resend you the details about the scientists if you've mislaid - just have a funny feeling I'm meant to tell you.
I like the worm turning stuff ..I think thats great.
ummm, if I know dogs (and three of those remaining are her sisters), their only thought will be that there's one less to eat the food! And sisters are sisters; all of them have got scars from fights with the others . They are positively human sometimes!
Fred, I'm so sorry about your dog. It's never an easy thing to do, even when you know it's right. I went with my sister in Friday to have her cat put down due to terminal cancer. Very upsetting, but the only thing to do at that point.
I hope today is better xx
sorry too about your dog, I have to make the same decision very soon and she is all I have left except the cat and I am too old to take on another dog now.
Sorry for your loss I know exactly what you went through losing my faithful golden lab 3 years ago. I have never had another too much heartbreak but I admire people that take on rescue dogs but getting on in years now to take that on . my 2 kids each have a gorgeous blue staffie which I have at times due to their work schedules and just had my sons one for 3 weeks when he went on holiday to Aussie .
dunnitall, they all have kennels in the grounds. A big one with a 50 x 50 metre run for the wolfhounds and a four cubicle one with a 15 x 10 metre run for the little ones. Only the companion dog for the week or so is always in the house and sleeps there; I pick which one it is; but the others are in the house a fair bit, since they only sleep in the kennels and most of the time are in the garden, so they tend to come and go.
