If you want a referendum on that, somebody would then want a referendum on another law, then another, then another.
And before the country ever has another referendum, there should be rules in place that ensure that parties on both sides of the divide can tell only the truth.

If it is wrong to kill,how can the State ever justify capital punishment?
I think the public would vote yes but I don't think you can govern by referendum generally. Personally I'd make life mean life more often than it ever does.
TTT...I am not so sure about how the public would vote. There will always be some support for the Death Penalty but as long as the House of Commons holds the reins, it will never come back.
