I think is a magnanimous offer, from a family that Hopkins traduced with her wicked lies. Well done to them for the offer.

But I am not sure I would want that dreadful woman in my house, for afternoon tea !

I don't see it as point scoring either.Mr Mahmood seems very genuine in his offer and there was little evidence of bitterness on show. It would be interesting if Katie Hopkins did take up the offer and would hopefully provide a decent final chapter in what was a terrible and costly misjudgment on her part and her employer.

Surely you'd welcome the opportunity to debate with her, mikey, or at least tell her what you think
It could change how she thinks. Unlikely, but it could.
Question Author
Unlikely I think as well Ummmm !

FF......I could tell her what I think without her having to step over the threshold .....the garden gate would be far enough !

I wonder if she will take up the opportunity ?

Unconvinced that making an "offer" one knows will not be taken up (as if it were it'd be the hosts trying to embarrass the guest while the guest would be responding to defend themselves) can be described as "magnanimous". Mere point scoring.

OG....don't agree. Hopkins was in the wrong here, and the chap came over as forgiving :::::

"She has apologised and my wife and I have accepted it"

Couldn't be clearer !
I hope she accepts the invitation.
Indeed. That's probably what I'd say in the circumstances.
Old Geezer,
Zahid Mahmood doesn't need to pointscore - he won hands down, in the Court, with the damages. He couldn't humiliate her more than she has humiliated herself. So perhaps he is making the offer to educate Hopkins, and stop her making the same mistake of writing lies?
Question Author
Educate Hopkins ?....bit too late for that IMHO.

So a mistake was made, I doubt h was just picked out the hat. It would be good for he to pop round and explain how these things can happen and how he can assist in stopping extremists within his 'community'

If you think she is a dreadful wicked woman then she must be doing something right.
Youngmafbog,he has nothing to apologise for whatsoever.
How is he suppose to assist extremists?
As long as KH doesn't turn the aftermath into a self-aggrandising anti-Muslim rant, it should be fine.
I think both of you know what i mean.

1) I have not said he should appologise for anything I said she should pop round to discuss the mistake.

2) if you read what i actually wrote instead of what you hoped I would write I said assist in stopping extremism. //he can assist in stopping extremists //
Question Author
I hope she does take up the invitation. She has a lot to learn and like most people, has very little contact with our ethnic minorities.

So...who knows ? Maybe some good will come of this after all....I hope it does.
Question Author
YMB...For the record, I can't see where you have suggested he should apologise either !
How is he suppose to assist though. If he is a peaceful Muslim he'd hardly be attending a Mosque that preaches hate so how would he know who the potential extremist are?
Question Author
Ummm...there is no evidence that this chap isn't a peaceful Muslim.....most are.
I know that, Mikey, so I assume he attends a Mosque that doesn't preach hate so I was wondering how can he assist in stopping extremists when there's a chance he doesn't even know who are potential extremists.
