He shouldn't have apologised full stop. He's only pandering to the perpetually offended.
best to have said nothing after the remarks..

Did your dad and grandad send a note saying what he said to 5,200,000 people by postcard?
I said what I thought on the other thread about this.
Probably because sometimes something like this can crucify you in the public eye which could lead to sponsorship backing off and everyone treating you as if you were a hybrid of the swamp thing and a leper, so social, financial and career suicide. It was Said tongue in cheek like many macho men talk so he hasn’t lost me as a fan.
Let's get this into perspective, the child was 3 years old, he was dressing up just like his friends most likely, must be a quiet news day .
Lewis Hamilton. I've heard, a really good driver of cars. That's him, isn't it?

Oh, and a complete fool. Shouldn't be allowed near anything that gives him access to t'Interweb.
He said it in public, so apologised in public. It makes sense.
'he apologised to everyone' Well he didn't have to apologise to me and I agree with NoM.
Shouldn't have said *anything* in the first place. The man's a complete - and this is where I can't type what I want to - always has been, always will be.

I think in this context, he was apologising to everyone who thought he was wrong. Specifically, those who follow him on Twitter who thought he was wrong to post the picture taking the mickey out of his nephew.

If you don't fall into either of those demographics, then he wasn't apologising to you.
Good because I didn't want him to!
“The man's a complete - and this is where I can't type what I want to - always has been, always will be.”

Young, handsome, famous, rich and ahead of his game. I’m not sure what your dislike of him is about.
He may be all those things to some, but he isn't a nice human being and is lousy Uncle material.
Juhulaye, those aren't usually the qualities you use when deciding whether you like someone.
Fun loving, happy, funny and genuine.
Better?
He shouldn’t be ostracised from the human race for a humorous remark is what I’m saying.
As long as you like him that's all that matters.
He was apologising to anyone he might have offended... however anyone who could take offence at such comments needs to take a long hard look at themselves. Hamilton had made the situation far, far worse by apologising.

However, I do agree that LH is a bit of a wally and he does look a right numpty in a pair of diamond earrings, as did David Beckham in that sarong all those years ago.
