What caught my eye was cost of 8 day holiday/trip at £195,000.
Hope they are all recovered ok.

I may have misheard (Radio news bulletin) but I thought they'd being found but it's the depth they're at is making things difficult
I don't care how much wealth they have - it can't buy them out of this nightmare.
I can't see anything to say its been found, arksided. According to Twitter a former Coast Guard Captain says it will take a series of miracles for it to be found in time.
Thank you I did mishere it, it was on in the background.

i cannot help but wonder if billionaires might be better off using their wealth for things that are less foolish and extravagant
It’s not about money. We all do what we want to do if we can afford it.
a small subset of people possessing such an extreme degree of wealth that they can do quite literally anything they want is not i would argue a healthy thing for the world
Post something elsewhere about that untitled - perhaps Society & Culture. This thread is not the place for it.
isn't it naomi? Have you seen the actual question, which is about the price?
i would suggest that one can express sadness about people perishing in this way while also observing how grotesque the whole project is
People who have enough money to take a plane, or buy a car, or take a train, take risks that people who don't have that opportunities don't take. The Vendee Globe on the previous page is another example. Landing on the moon is another extreme example. The more money, the more extreme some of the opportunities and, its flip side, risk ...
Since people are dead or close to death in the most horrifying circumstances, bednobs, I think it’s crass to discuss money. Potholers follow their sport for free and die in horrendous circumstances - so to my mind money is irrelevant - hence my suggestion. But if you and untitled want to go down that route it’s your prerogative.
it's in the flipping question naomi! if you think it's crass, why are you replying on it (and not telling off the OP)?
It was early days when the OP
was posted, bednobs - long before all hope was pretty much abandoned as it is now - and I’m not telling anyone off.
Ok, but i expect that someone being told to post elsewhere as their views arent welcome might feel like being told off
Okay. Crossed wires then.
well, from what I understand the American Navy is trying to triangulate the knocking sound and they reckon they can do this to within 100 metres accuracy. Then a robotic sub or two is going down and I guess if they find it to help budge it or remove the external weights so it lifts up..... but what about the bends too?
DTC, If the sub isn’t damaged they won’t be exposed to pressure so the bends won’t be an issue. If it’s damaged and they are exposed to pressure, at that depth they’re dead anyway.
