I'm guessing that the government didn't consider this time of year, now my kids are forced to stand outside in the freezing cold and rain whilst I have a cigarette. I can't even open the window open to talk to them as I'm worried that the rain will damage the buttons for the windows.
Sorry but I think smoking in a car is disgusting full stop (and I'm an occasional smoker). It's a confined space and whether there are passengers or not, the stink of fags sticks to everything.
I wonder if vaping is ok it should be IMO.
Vaping still puts fumes in the car and inflicts it on others; and there is disputes regarding how "safe" it is too. In my opinion it is a cynical attempt to make money out of those who want to carry on smoking around others and not care a fig.
jokey thread I know, but smoking in cars with kids in is disgusting. Glad its been made outlawed. My brother in law smoked in his car when his baby was been transported home from the maternity ward and continues to smoke in his car no matter whose in it. Selfish nob!
OG I disagree, there is nooooo comparison between the two.
Vaping vapour disperses very quickly and has just a feint fruity smell whereas smoke is intensely, eye wateringly noxious.
The level of toxic substances in vape is minimal and negligible IMO whereas sidestream from burning tobacco has a proven track record of being poisonous as well as very smelly and clinging.
It appears that there are assumptions about the safety of e-cigarettes that may not be founded in research. This article in Web-MD (usually dependable) condenses (pardon the semi-pun) the state of the science surrounding e-cigarettes like a cloud of dust whipped up by a wagon train crossing the Mojave desert, is yet to be thoroughly explored...
Ha ha some good answers here thanks all. For the record I do agree with the law, although it was brought in far too late to save me breathing in my dad's smoke throughout my childhood!
