Jesus Christ  —God, Man, or Myth?
On the other hand, we should be eager to learn about a Jesus, who is alive and who is empowered by God, to bring lasting benefits to mankind. Evolution Undermines Faith. In advocating evolution, with whom do the clergy ally themselves, and what published statements show whether they are aware of it or not. Religious advocates of evolution thus join hands with atheistic communists whose avowed aim is to root out faith in God, In what ways is man more wonderfully made than the animals, (Genesis 1:27, 28), Then, of course, there are the leaders of false religion who preach from the Bible at times and yet live contrary to its teachings or come forth with philosophies such as “God is dead” or that the virgin birth, of Jesus is a myth or that the creation account in Genesis is a fairy tale.

ANDY HUGHES //My respone was to barsel, but because I was on my mobile, I was unable to paste his response to show what I was arughing with//

His response. Who is he? If you would take the trouble to look, I think you will find I'm a female and have been for all my life.

Please accept my apologies, such mis-gendering will not happen again.

I'm not 100% sure of this, but I believe the only virgins that can get pregnant are those using IVF but I am 100% certain they didn't use that back then.

Barsel - Semen deposited in the vagina can fertilise easily, there is no need for intercourse to take place.

Plenty of women conceive with a turkey baster - it's that easy.

Evolution has ensured that fertilisation will occur if even proximity occurs - it's designed to ensure procreation.

Perhaps virginity means different things to different people but I thought until the hymen is broken, you are still a virgin.

Perhaps Joseph broke it with the turkey baster.

Cover your eyes, Naomi.

Let's cut to the chase. Mary was made pregnant out of wedlock by Joseph, and rather than the two being stoned to death for such a sin, they concocted the impregnated by god/virgin birth story...

Blubster Sounds good to me.

Barsel - Vigorous exercise can split the hymen - horse riding is known for it.

Andy,  she didn't have a horse, just a little donkey.

Jesus Christ=HOPE.

I don't think they had turkey basters in those days.  Turkeys I'm not so sure about.

But Jesus did have a father, jno.  Someone was fibbing.

Having just read Hitchens' "God is not Great" he points out that ALL major religions have their "hero" come into being without male/female congress. It's part of the recipe for religion.

Locust, I haven't asked you any questions that I expected to be answered.  I've given you my interpretation of what the gospels tell us.  I didn’t expect you to comment rationally on that - and you didn't.  In fact you didn't comment on it at all - I imagine because you find it utterly impossible to consider anything that doesn't endorse your own belief.

When it comes to talking about my religion. Or your religion. I take it very seriously. Because the word is God is very important to me. And I do not factionalize. Or do not consider your request.l known applicable because the discussing of our creator or your creator is most important because talking about our creator is getting the full knowledge. Of his interpretation. Of the scriptures, therefore, the discussion must be a two-fold way. If connecting to the discussing we are talking about, we do not need to jump .from one subject to another. Subject but to fulfil .the one subject .we are both talking about. Because if we keep jumping. From one subject to another. We do not get the fulfilment. Of the scriptures, and that's the way I think

This means everlasting life, they're taking in knowledge of you, he is the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.”—John 17:3

Acts 20:29 1 Timothy 4:1

Locust, I haven't jumped anywhere.  The subject is as your heading - 'Jesus Christ, God, Man or Myth?  That's what I've addressed and my answer to your question is 'man' - a human being born of one man and one woman as we all are.

Please don't bother to quote biblical text.  I've read it and it doesn't impress.

locust, I believe Jesus is/was all three, the trinity, holy number 3, I believe in evolution and know Jesus is as real as this desk I sit at. God made a beautiful changing word. And sometimes others deep rooted loss, pain, hate, jealousy, just their negativity comes out of them. And of course the evil in the world will attack the faithful. Drawn to the light, so to say.

Julie - You appear to be confusing what you believe to be true, with what you can prove to be true.

Your desk passes all the basic reality tests - you can see it, touch it, smell it, if you tip it over it obeys gravity, if you get up in then middle of the night, it's still sitting there.

God fails all these tests.

You wany him to be real because you believe, but that doesn't mean that he is real.

If belief made things happen, I would  believe a cure for cancer,  but that won't make it happen.

Not for nothing do we have separate meanings for 'belief' and reality'.
