I am going to be studying at NTU in October and am looking for a place to live close to the city centre. I have found a lovely house in the Sneinton area but am worried about how dangerous it is, I have a 3 year old son and don't want to be somewhere shrouded in crime. Am i making a mistake looking at this area?

Depends whereabouts in Sneinton the house is. One end of Sneinton is quite rough and not very desirable but the other end is fine. The streets that come off Sneinton Dale are much better than the area around Colwick Road. In terms of living close to the City Centre then Sneinton is preferable to either the Meadows or St Anns.
Which campus will you be based at ?

i'll be studying at the city site, chaucer building on talbot street. i'm trying to find somewhere with a nursery on route to the campus which has made the house search harder, sneinton just seemed like a good location in terms of travel and i have found a really nice house there.
