This is not territory many pastors will dare to go into, but why not?
Perhaps they think questions like this undermines Christianity, I would claim the opposite
Did Jesus get colds as a child or even something like chicken pox?
Carpentry tools can be dangerous, did He ever cut His hand
I really don't know but I do hold that Jesus was 100% God and 100% Man during His time on earth.
Was this meant in everyday life is something of a mystery as the New Testament only records a short period of His life

fiveleaves; surely Jesus coudn't have been 100% God and 100% man? That would have made him 200% of something. Do you know anything about math?
You don't know if he got a cold or not. You don't know if he cut his hand or not.
Yes, it is all a mystery. Do you like mysteries? If so, why? The non-existence of god is probably a mystery to you. Does that make you happy or puzzled?

Atheist, I wanted to say something to provoke a discussion.
I don't know the answer, it is probably unanswerable but it raises interesting theology.
My statement that Jesus was 100% God and 100% Man is of course a faith position, but is one in which I am going to stick with.
/// Carpentry tools can be dangerous, did He ever cut His hand ///

Yes, according to this (extract from a) Pre-Raphaelite painting he did.

fiveleaves. How can you say that someone is 200% of something? You might find me an annoying pedant, but what you say is mathematically and logically impossible. If you don't understand what I'm saying, then it's pointless us trying to have a discussion. Do mysteries appeal to you? If so, why? Surely mysteries are there to make us think and seek to understand, not to simply say "Oooh I love a good mystery. Please don't spoil it for me."
There is certainly no written record of such a thing. But, then, how could there be? The four gospels were written decades after Jesus is supposed to have lived, but people who almost certainly could not have known Jesus at all, let alone be witness to any of the supposed events they describe. In fact, all four gospels are anonymous, their "names" being added in the second century.
//100% God and 100% Man during His time on earth.//

Roger out :-)
Canary; Wow! Jesus really did a pre-Raphaelite painting of himself? What a scoop!
Did Jesus even practice what he preached??

He (supposedly) preached love your enemies but assigned his own enemies to Hell.
(Enemies were people that didnt believe....)
Question Author
Atheist, I maintain that Jesus was 100% God and 100% Man. It's a paradox.
Yes I love a mystery. I think most people do, don't they?
Illness and injury apart he did have his cross to bear.
He certainly did! Luke 19:27: "But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me."

But, of course, anything like that which makes Christians uncomfortable must be a parable, right?

Nailit, Not relevant to this particular thread, You will have lots of other opportunities to preach about your opposition to Jesus's teaching

fiveleaves, you are a typical fundy preacher type that preaches but avoids questions.
seek to understand, not to simply say "Oooh I love a good mystery. Please don't spoil it for me."

that by the way is Oscar Wilde when asked about an extempore translation of Greek - (NT) oh dont say stop I want to see what happens in the end

all the good one liners are repeats

100% and 100% is an analogy from jt ownership innit?

BUT boys and girls standard christian theology ( that's you lots Abers!) - is human before crucifixion and divine after.

and so - - - 1 st Jan - Feast of the Holy circumcision (*) shows the humanity of Christ. So yup he bled and he went to the lavatory and all the rest..... as TTT so often says - "I knew dat really but said I didnt!"

(*) the wholly circum-what-shun ! - a standard AB wag effortlessly quips

Wasnt to well on the cross from what I can gather from a brief reading of the gospels?
The PRB painting

Hole made by the Nail ( no not Nailit ! silly)
Prophetic for the crucifixion - as the shadow on the wall shows the crucifixion

yeah foo you all knew that
Thinking he was the son of god, talking to that god and believing he was answered.... Sounds like he would get a diagnosis of some sort of mental illness nowadays. Maybe back in those times there was a crazy Nazarene who gave rise to a cult, which became a religion
