Hi everyone! Yes, it's back! With 32 days until kick-off, I've taken the liberty of restarting our very own Answerbank League.
Hopefully all the regulars will enter a couple of teams & let's hope that a few more fancy having a go this season. Don't worry if you know *nothing* about football but still want to give it a try - you can use the option to have a team selected at random. The facility to enter a 3rd team in January will also be available.
As last year, we're given £100m to spend & have unlimited transfers until the Match Day deadline on Saturday 12th August, then you get 5 per week / 40 for the season. This season, there's a new "Overhaul" feature, which means that for one week in September & one week in February, *unlimited* transfers will be available, *not* coming out of the 40 per season allowance! I like that idea & think it could prove very interesting indeed!
Anyhoo, enough blather from me, all the details are on the site here -
https:/ /fantas yfootba ll.skys ports.c om/home
- I'd suggest using the "Help" tab, then the "How To Play" tab.
When you've picked a team (or two) - yourself, or used automatic selection, name your team(s), then join the League - ours is called "AnswerBank" & the PIN you need to enter is -
8302798
You can then change the visibility of your team(s) between "Public" & "Private", depending on whether you want other Managers to be able to see the details. A note here - just because I'm called the League "Chairman" doesn't mean I'm given special powers. I can't see "Private" teams & I get no other privileges.
The following links can be useful (though as they point out, not necessarily definitive) to check for injuries and suspensions prior to game days -

This can be useful near to, or on, Game Days -

Ok, I think that's covered everything needed to get the League going & I wish everyone lots of fun & good luck for the forthcoming season! :-))

All clubs seem to be flexing their money muscles in the top flight, still a while to go before the deadline... I'll have some shifting about to be done with my teams but Friday I will change them to be private.
You Have being warned! ;-) 11th last season... I ask you...tsk.
It's being a long few months.. well done to the England ladies reaching the Semi's facing the Dutch...

Hi Arky - I think I get all that! Not sure about "tika tacky"... ;-)
In case no-one's noticed (like me!), I've *now* realised that the 1st match of the season is actually on Friday August 11th - Arsenal v Leicester. I wanted to mention it so that "match days/weeks" aren't confused for any changes needed on Saturday 12th.
My teams are taking shape on paper so far & the neighbours are no doubt wondering why "I need another £4.3m!" More shuffling required... :-)

Fat fingers on the space bar and it posted?? As I was saying....
If I pick em they are guaranteed 3 months on the sick. So can be bribed to leave out your favourites. We could do with a few more joiners, perhaps we need to twist a few arms and whip in the prevaricators in the next week or so. Come on AV, get a team in. Might be good practice if they make you manager next year.

I'm not sure whether Mr AV has ever joined our AB league it would be good to have him on board, the more the merrier.
Although he doesn't post so much on AB these days I'm quietly confident that Mighty will join us again, maybe a little closer to KO.
LIK, 'My teams are taking shape on paper so far & the neighbours are no doubt wondering why "I need another £4.3m!'
I think my neighbours are used to it by now... "He's wittering and cursing to himself again, has to be about football."

Hi. Do I have to register as an individual first then set up a team then join the AB league?
I seemed to have fallen at th efirst hurdle-registration. It says there is already an account at my address so I need to sign in as an existing member but I have no record of my ID and they can't send me details as they don't seem to recognise any of my email addresses.

Hi f-f - hmmm... I'd guess that at some point in the past you've opened a Sky account of some description somewhere? Have you ever used Sky Bet? That might explain it.
Otherwise, I'd suggest trying the page here -

Please come back to us with any progress (or lack thereof) & we'll either put our hands together to cheer you in or heads together to get you in!

Never had sky bet. May have been in a FL many years ago .
Just tried to reregister using family member's address and varied my forname slightly but it must still recognise my surname and date of birth, so it seems I'll either have to create a completely fictitious ID or give it a miss. I seem to remember i had to give up a few years ago when i tried for the same reason. Thanks anyway LiK

Hi FF. Have you tried the log in top right? Then the "forgotten user ID or PIN. I think it may take you to the original security question or questions that you sorted. When I first joined the Sky Fantasy Football (can't call if FF when talking to you :) I had the same problem. Years ago I had set up a sky bet account on my mobile when on holiday, and promptly forgotten about it.

Another option FF,You can actually by using the Sky site post a question to the accounts team. You go into the FAQs section and scroll down to "How can I contact you" and there is an account recovery web page. I had an account query earlier this year and they do reply pretty promptly. Sorry for pecking your head. :)) But we want more players.

Hi again - sorry, I've been away from the screen.
f-f - perhaps you could try the longer Contact form here -
https:/ /fantas yfootba ll.skys ports.c om/cont act
That would give you the chance to explain the problem to them in more detail - I'm presuming of course that the mandatory name/address fields will allow you to send the request!
If that's no good, come back again...
