After recently installing an update to the iplayer, every time I switch the laptop on the iplayer appears on screen.

I've removed the short cut icon but that hasn't solved the problem.

Although it only takes a click to close the window, it's really annoying.

Could someone please tell me how to get rid of the thing without deleting the file altogether.

NB - I'm not overly technical, so an 'idiots guide' would be appreciated !!

Thank you in advance.

this is nice!

Before starting to play about with any other downloads, or even MSconfig the first place to look is always in the program options themselves (it's much safer!)

So open Iplayer desktop, go to options > general options and take the tick out of "run download manager at windows startup"

Check your Favorites list. Perhaps you inadvertently designated the iPlayer as a Favorite. If so, you could delete it from the Favorites list.

Or check in Start/All Programs/Startup ... and delete links you don't need (like the Office one or Adobe ones that may be in there)
