HI nswebankers,
I am travelling from Manchester to Frankfurt, Frankfurt to Denver. I know I can have my hold baggage transferred from Manchester to Denver. I don't normally travel with cabin baggage but this trip I will have a cabin bag. Once I have gone through security in Manchester can I put my liquids (in a clear plastic bag) into my cabin bag (which I don't need to open during my flight) or will I need to show the liquids again at Frankfurt? I don't want to have to open and close my cabin bag unless absolutely necessary. TIA

We use Schiphol to connect to the USA, we remain airside in Amsterdam and don't go through security again so any liquids stay in cabin bags. Our airline, Delta, has it's own set up at Amsterdam, maybe Frankfurt is different.
You`ll probably have to show them again. You do at Heathrow if you are transferring.

Relevant bits follow

Security Check

In most cases, you must clear security checks on your way through the airport. Please allow enough time for them. Also please observe the restrictions on carrying liquids and gels into the aircraft cabin.
...
Passport Checks

Whether or not you must clear a passport check depends on whether the airport you have arrived from and your destination are within or outside the Schengen Area.
...
You are arriving from outside the Schengen Area and your destination is in a non-Schengen country: Usually no passport check is mandatory, provided that that you do not leave the transit zone. Depending on your nationality, you may require a transit visa. If in doubt, please contact an embassy or consulate of your country.
In my experience when transferring at any airport, they make you go through the full security checks again (both personal and hand baggage). On one occasion, when I pointed out that I had already been security screened to board the flight, I was given the excuse that there are differing screening procedures at each airport (and therefore I needed to be screened again).

Bear in mind that if you did not purchase your flight to Denver in a single transaction as through ticket, should your flight to Frankfurt be delayed for any reason (and you miss the connecting flight) the airline flying you to Denver has no obligation to get you to Denver and you may be required to buy another ticket.
Probably a through ticket (Lufty)?otherwise the OP wouldn't be able to check the baggage straight though to Denver.
