A couple of days ago a stone put a 3 inch crack in my windscreen, tonight I went out and as it is cold I turned on the heater. Big mistake, I now have a two foot crack across the screen. Now I need this just before Christmas, do I tell the grandchildren that Santa has broken his leg and cannot visit this year or, tell them that they are treating me to a new windscreen.

Are windscreen expensive?
Are you not covered on your car insurance?
Just knock 75 quids worth of pressies off the list ( insurance excess ).
wolf...depending on the vehicle, the fitting of a new windscreen can be expensive. Most decent car insurance policies will cover the cost....although you'll have to pay the "windscreen excess".
Presents purchased with love need not be expensive.
My insurance covers up to £200 of windscreen damage with no excess I though most were the same?
I've never heard of that one, EDDIE.
I think most windscreens would cost more than £200.

Do you not have Insurance Baza?
Might be higher I have not looked at the policy recently. I must have a look.

Thanks for all your answers.
Auto Glass bringing new windscreen Tuesday morning. £50 excess to pay.
What a bargain. Christmas is back on for the kids!
Not to bad then, baza.
you should have gone to Specsavers, baza......
get stome chips fixed quickly, most insurance companies will get it done for you free of charge
A "three-inch crack" isn't a repairable "stonechip".

New windscreen fitted about an hour ago, I did feel sorry for the fitter working outside on a cold morning, he refused offers of tea or coffee, I did offer a cuddle with Mrs B to warm him up but he declined that as well.
