Howdy peeps! What is everyone up to for the BH weekend?

I am going to open a nice red in a bit, either a Zin or a Malbec, and sit in the garden whilst there's still a drop of sun round the back of the house.

Going for a hair cut and a Pedi tomorrow, but otherwise a pretty chilled weekend is on the cards. I managed, after a fair bit of faffing, to check in online for our flight next week and so we're all set to go, apart from the packing.

Husband ,his older sister, her husband , we’ve booked the Aspire lounge at the airport to get it off to a good start

Ah yes, I did that when I flew to Krakow with my mother. It's a good deal for sure.

We'll probably save ourselves until we get to Riga. We're going to have to set out at 02:30 in the morning so we'll probably be half-dazed by the time we get to the airport.

I shall be more or less staying at home or certainly not going very far. Never do bank holidays. Far too many folk on the roads getting in my way. Followed a car today constantly slowing down to admire the scenery. That's okay but not doing 20 in a 60 limit. The road in front of them was clear but nowhere to overtake. Not being a misery and I'm glad they are enjoying themselves but please pull into a layby to let the rest of us past.

If my memory serves me correctly, Lady-J, if you enter a National Speed Limit area and there is one or more cars behind you, you are legally obliged to do a minimum of 50 miles per hour, therefore going too slow can equate to breaking the law.

Two football grounds for me, the Kings of Leon at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground today then Arsenal hosting Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates. The first should be very enjoyable, the second, maybe less so.

There is no requirement to drive at a minimum of 50mph in a National Speed limit zone.
You can, in theory, be fined for driving too slow if it is perceived you are being a hazard to other road users. There is no Law and therefore no specific penalty for driving too slowly. You might receive a verbal warning by an over zealous police officer. In the worst case scenario you may be summonsed and charged with driving ‘without due care and attention’ or ‘without reasonable consideration for other road users’ (penalty code CD30) which incurs penalty points anywhere from 3 to 9 along with a fine.

The speed limit for a car towing a trailer, even a small luggage trailer, on a single-carriageway is 50mph, so it would be very silly to also have a minimum speed of 50mph.
