What happens when a person dies in rented house, does the tenancy just expire.

The landlord will give the relatives who have been notified of death, a notice to quit & relatives have to clear the flat of personal belongings. In some cases, extra rent may have to be paid to cover the clearing out period.

Thanks for replies, but what if the deceased has no relatives.

I think its then down to council to sort. Not sure about any money that may be in bank accounts and any money at the rented house.?
