...cod liver oil, orange juice, and malt?

They were for children.  Did they help improve the health of the nation?

//even when we had to thaw it out next to the radiators//

Just after the end of the war my brother contracted an illiness from inadequately pasteurised milk that had been thawed on the radiator which increased the power of whatever it was and he died.

I was born 1961 and I had Rose hip syrup, mum said it was because i was so under weight. Not like that now 🤣🤣

Shocking zebo, very sad.

Orange juice was a treat for me.

I hated Rose Hip Syrup.

We had all of those. My mother gave us the cod liver oil every night before bedtime. We had to put up with all the smoking, rationing, smogs, and poor housing, so I'm sure the orange juice, cod liver oil and malt must have helped because we are now told that us Baby Boomers are the lucky generation and will live longer than any previous generation. Hey ho! 😊

Margaret Thatcher Milk Snatcher.

Just sayin 😀

Labour stopped the milk for over 11s first, Thatcher stopped it for over 7s, then labour stopped it for all children

Just saying

I never knew that Barrie. Thanks for the info.

Love malt, had some recently.

I remember getting cod liver oil then rose hip syrup to take the taste away and free milk at school. I think we were healthier then -  I walked to and from school every day.
