please can someone help..i recently bought a 2nd hand car..i was told it had not been involved in an accident..on checking v5 before i signed it.. there was no mention whatsoever about accident..( i also have 2 witnesses) on receiving v5 back it clearly states car was accident damaged..it was also advertised with new exhaust and working air con..no new exhaust and air con doesnt work..i contacted prev owner to no avail..the problem is i beleieve he is a trader and not private seller as made out..on receiving letter from him today he mentions he is not a car dealer(i never mentioned this to him) when i went to view car a lady delt with it as she said owner was away working. it clearly states on the letter this guy wrote to me that he paid her 200 commission for selling the car..to me this makes him a dealer, what can i do?

the fact that this guy and lady are selling other cars makes me believe he is a trader
Your local Trading Standards office might be interested to hear about this guy (and be able to offer you advice). You can find your local office by entering your postcode here:
