I asked the question; Daisy's transport could be a sports car (3,6) T_ _, _E_T_ _ I got given the answer The Beetle but it doesn't seem to fit with the rest of my crossword. I was thinking Daisy might be the cow not the flower. Any ideas? I think the last letter could be an R. I got the R from; Machine dispensing liquid waste by gravity or pressure (6,8) S_U_(E?)_ _P_E_D_R which I think is Slurry Spreader. I also asked; Personal fodder from the face (4-4,6) S_L_-_ _ _ _,_ _ _ _ _E Someone suggested Self-help course? Thought it could be an anagram of Personal fodder? Might have an I in if inhibitor is answer to question below which would mean it couldn't be either. Any thoughts? (Half the letters are the start letters of the questions below)

I also have a couple more questions just to finish off the crossword.

Gorse and whin said to be pelts (5) _ _R_Y

Former thespian demands his pound of flesh (7) _ _A_T_R

Stuff that stops a plant growing (9) _ _H_B_T_R (is it inhibitor?)

Scope of the morning morsel (5) _ _B_T

Begin journey when lighting blue touchpaper (3,3) _E_,(E?)_ _ (the 2nd E comes from the beetle question so may not be right, think last letter could be F)

I don't understand some of the questions at all, please could you tell me how you get to the answers. I've only just started doing cryptic crosswords.

Sorry, it's a bit like an essay! Your help is much appreciated. Thanks!

1. Two seater
Gorse one = FURZE (sounds like furs)
Scope = AMBIT (am + bit)
Begin journey = SET OFF (double def)
Former thesp = EXACTOR (ex-actor plus onwe who demands)
From the song Daisy, Daisy ........"you'd look sweet sat on the seat of a bicycle made for two!"
I agree with Argee on TWO-SEATER (reference is the song "Daisy, Daisy, Give me your answer do")
Sorry - typing at same time!
Yes Quizmonkey you got the others in just before me. I noticed the other day someone called you Quiz DONKEY!! LOL
Hello foxyfarmer, glad to help but can I suggest that it would be easier to link the answers if you numbered the clues . Thanks.

OK, Argee! Will do! Any ideas about the plant one? What about the Personal fodder from the face? (4-4,6) Now have; S_L_-F_E_,_ _ _A_E (still all letters that are in personal fodder, if it is an anagram though, then inhibitor is wrong)
Looks like Self-feed something - not being a farmer though, it's a bit tricky! And yes, Argee, I laughed too...
Self-feed forage ??
