does anyone know where I can buy maple sugar, cream and butter from a uk mail order company? I know I can get it straight from Canada and the US but the p and p and customs make this very expensive.

neti I know NOTHING about machines....well very little....bottom tension problems are often to do with an accumulation of fluff...have you cleaned it out?
Well I will try to brush it out and maybe I'll oil it and see how that goes.
We are under a red warning for big storm Gloria tomorrow. 7 metre waves and 120 winds. All outdoor activities have been cancel. Today has been sunny, cold and calm, hard to imagine. Will let you know!
Poor jno, awfulnwhen you cant sleep. I sleep but have to visit the loo every 3 hrs! ( that'll be my bottom tension hahaha). Mr N is the same so he is in hija's room so he can watch tv or read when he cant sleep! I now take a flask of tea to bed with me so I can have a cuppa whenI wake up early!!
How are you Shaney? Any better?
All ferries cancelled and warnings to stay away from the coast and to avoid lose flying objects.
Still so calm at the moment.
maybe you're in the eye of the storm and don't know it, neti?

I went to see the light show this evening.

Lots of good things - the latest thing seems to be installations that change colour as music is playing. It got very chilly indeed by 9pm down by the river, but it was humungously crowded everywhere. I tend to forget that it's Saturday night and normal people go out.

That is lovely jno. At least you have a life! Do you live near Canary wharf as you seem to go there often?
Good ...erm...afternoon.
Finally the weather calmed down and it's now bright, sunny but very cold. I've broken the ice on the birdbaths once but it looks like they've refrozen, I hardly have any sun on my back garden in winter. Have you noticed it's a bit lighter at night? It seems to have happened all of a sudden. Of course it could be all those lights dahn sarf, they're lovely, especially the mountain, buoys and the fountain. Bra tree, haha. Makes a change from plastic bag tree.

Hope you're all ok/feeling better. I feel sluggish and bloated, it's time to stop all the biscuits, cakes and chocolate and eat healthier food.
Hmmmm....
miles away, neti, but you only have to get on the Jubilee line to get there, and all the other tube lines cross the Jubilee line so you only have to change once. I do like London transport, it's so easy to get about and it's free for wrinklies.

Yes, I hadn't realised it was an American custom for skiers to throw their bras into a tree. I suppose it's no sillier than rolling cheeses down a hill.

Expensive new computer sitting on the floor waiting for Stan the man to install it tomorrow. The current one freezes so often I have to put on an extra layer before using it.
Well storm Gloria has found us. We managed to go out to Ibiza for coffee and croissants . We had to go and see the humongous queue at the football ticket office for tickets to see Barcelona v Ibiza on Wednesday. Sold 4,000 Tickets in 4 hours! People queued throughout the night
Mad I say!
Nice and cosy at home, Mr N having cooked a lovely roast lamb with all the trimmings.
I remember when i was in my 20s and lived in Hendon and Golders Green I thought nothing of jumping on the tube to go places. Now it confuses me!
Ooh are you psychic jno? This morning I was watching Click (BBC) and all the sci-fi type tech we're going to have in the future. Hmmm, I thought, this is the world that still chases lumps of cheese down hills and runs throught the streets carrying burning barrels on their backs.
:) :)
Yes Robi I noticed the evenings are getting lighter and I am not pleased! jno I dont think there was jubilee line when I lived there!

They are beautiful Jno but I think not as good as those holograms they did
Still in the midst of storm gloria. No tv but we have a firestick and mobdro on tablet so have watched our programms. At least we still have leccy and wifi
Lots on the island have lost their power lines.
Well I think Gloria has gone! My patio was piled high with debris and took a while to clear it! Lots of trees down all.over the place. We have got away with it! I did a load of washing and it dried. I went to town dressed like a farmer as it's all muddy underfoot. Had to move tables as the council were lopping of branches. The locals say itll start again tonight but I wont here anything!
Shaney hope you are getting betting!
Question Author
bra tree? where did that sprout from?
I'm getting betting Neti, thank you.Slowly though and I feel really weary.
These things are so hard to shake off as you get older.Mr S went and got me a bottle of Metatone today so hopefully that will buck me up and give me some appetite back.
Very cold here but bright and much better than that germ breeding mild ,damp weather we've been having.
The light show looks great Jno.Hope your new computer is up and running.Mine is full speed ahead again, touch wood .What caused it it to slow down and stick and jump about is a mystery.
I used to love going round London on the tube but I couldn't cope with it now.
Hope you're all Ok and that the storm has finally gone Neti.
Night all.
Mor I g al. It has been horrendous here. Its the constant roaring sound which gets me down. I had to struggle to the bank for Mr N ( his passport is being renewed so he couldnt go) thennit was only 10am and I had arranged to meet friends at 11am so I had a coffee sitting g outside
Then the storm hit! Yea gods! It was dreadful, and it became so dark that no one could see. The police came out on every corner to guide pedestrians. I decided to go home and struggled.in the storm. I hate thunder andmlightning when I'm walking in a river!! Took shelter in a Chinese shop and there was only me and the two workers so I felt I had to buy something! So glad to get home. Made met andmpit pir and cabbage with onion. Then the blasted gas fire wouldn't light at all! I think I must take it back! Mr N fiddled with it and it finally worked. All supermarkets have run out of fresh veg as no ferries for 3 days. We are ok though! Now all seems calm and motionless! Hope that's it!
Dont ask Ive no idea! Ill blame the storm! Basically I've made a most and pot pie
At 11am tomorrow I have to do my driving test as licence needs renewing! Very nervous
Afternoon all...after being bright and sunny it suddenly turned dark and dull so it won't be a light evening today. That sounds awful neti, seems the climate's going mad everywhere.

Oh dear shaney, it's awful when a virus hangs on, hope the tonic helps. It sounds like the one from last year that the mexico said was borderline flu. It took me about 7 weeks to get over it. :(

Been back to the dentist this morning, they've made me a mouth guard to wear at night (ugh!) for this jaw problem. It's not as painful or as persistent as it was at first but if you don't do as they suggest and things flare up again you get a smacked wrist.
My old hairdresser returned this afternoon (with the baby who's now six months and a sweetie) so I'm back to blonde, phew :) The stand-in did it too dark and grey roots were freaking me out, haha. I refuse to grow old gracefully.

Question Author
Robi growing old gracefully is no fun. Disgracefully is much better. Neti I hope you are okay and still have a roof waves to Shaney and Jno
