I think he's loving the Europeans pointlessly sucking up to him at the moment. First Macron now Starmer.

I do think that invitation to the Palace will appeal to him though.

TORATORATORA, that comment from Trump was addressed toward a reporter and Starmer had made his point.

....as is confirmed by the correction the Express has published at the end of the article in the link.

I don't know what you've been watching, nicebloke, but Starmer's public meeting with Trump today was cringeworthy.  Trump was right when he said Starmer worked hard.  He did - and Trump saw right through him - and he made that absolutely clear.  Trump is playing with him.  What a complete embarrassment our Prime Minister is.  I've rarely been ashamed to be British but today was an exception.

Ha ha ha. It must have been a terrible experience for you to have been proven wrong, and an embarrassment to you to see our PM standing his ground having had a successful meeting with Trump, I know you were hoping for a complete snub from Trump. Trump more or less made a retraction of his accusation of Zelensky being a dictator in front of KS thats a BIG win i would say for KS. :0)

Sure, Trump does play, but why do you think he's doing that? he's still having to throw a few sweets in Putins direction, to keep him sweet so Putin dont refuse to see him, its called a balancing game.

The only embarrassment I experience is of people slagging this country off. :0) Happy Days.

//I know you were hoping for a complete snub from Trump.//

Don't be silly.  Trump wasn't going to snub Starmer.  He was having a pre-arranged meeting with him.   Starmer was way out of his depth sitting there grinning like a Cheshire Cat desperate to be thrown a crumb and making such a performance of presenting Trump with the King's letter of invitation.   Just toe-curling.

The only one i remember sitting with Trump like a Baboon was Boris. :0)

The presentation of the invite is called being diplamatic.

Get over it you were wrong. But just to keep you happy you can have the last comment, me, got better things to do today. Have a great day. :0)

Labour sucking up to Trump after what they've called him the past takes hypocrisy to a whole new level.

//The presentation of the invite is called being diplamatic.//

Nonsense.  It was like a schoolboy bringing a note from his dad to the teacher.  And telling Trump of the great honour that was being conferred upon him made it worse!  Diplomatic it wasn't!

Can't really see how you and gulliver get on so well if as you say "The only embarrassment I experience is of people slagging this country off." because he is always doing it.

So... what has actually been achieved ?

(I mean apart from Trump thinking it ok to approve of the giving away of an important UK island and the UK public actually paying for the "privilege".)

10.36 theshedman. No where in my OP did I mention or ask for a character assessment of me or gulliver.

nicebloke, all I did was answer the statement you made on not liking people who slag off the UK.  You wrote it not me.  If you don't want answers then don't write it to start with.  If you take it as a "character assessment" then just remember it was you that put that on too.

Have to agree with you Mr NiceBloke "Starmer the charmer" Trump seemed quite relieved that he was having a sensible conversation with a forward going British PM Sir Keir Starmer.    Instead of the likes of Boris the Baboon or Farage the mouth.😎
