Should The Daily Mail Web Site Be Banned From Answerbank?
50 Answers
It would appear from the various of anti Daily Mail comments that appear regularly on the news section of Answerbank, that many would only be too pleased to see it banned from this site.
Since the Daily Mail has the largest combined monthly readership according to this Guardian report.
/// Overall, the Daily Mail still had the largest combined monthly readership across the board with 18.8 million print and online readers, followed by the Sun with just under 17 million and the Guardian in third. In terms of weekly and daily readers, the Sun remained the most popular newspaper with 12.6 million and 7.2 million combined readers respectively. ///
What does this say about some contributors to this site, are they themselves closeted readers of this newspaper and don't like to admit it?

Unless a publication is publishing illegal literature it should not be banned. And that applies to extremes such as the BNP and socialist Workers etc too.

youngmafbog - that is a seriously sweeping statement.
If you refer to the 'left wingers', I doubt you would find many, if any, who would agree with censorship.
Perhaps you are confused - freedom of speech and expression is the remit of the 'left' - i.e. any normal intelligent person who thinks beyond themselves and strives for a free society for everyone.

I think it would be an excellent idea to ban them. Many ABers would then be forced to think for themselves. This would prevent their brains from atrophying, and relieve a huge cost burden on the NHS in the years to come.
Likewise, it would vastly reduce the number of things that cause cancer, another vital breakthrough for the overstretched health service

"no it shouldn't be banned, however i am always surprised when some ABers who appear to hate the paper, often post links to it, or make comments on it's stories, if they don't like the paper or it's contents why do it "
because they cant help themselves
these are the same people on here that spew insults and vitriole at those who dont agree with their take on things and always want to impose their views on everybody else....
the same ones that seem to think they should be deciding whats posted on here and who should or shouldnt be answering posts etc etc etc ...
If they didnt read the mail et al how else would they manage to get their levels of indignancy up past the red line, how else would they be finding things to always be offended about ?
Of course they read it, most of them are raving hypocrites.....you know, the do as i say not as i do sort of people ! they luv it

I think it's fair to say that I disagree with the stance that the DM takes on many issues. But ban it? That would take the fun away of challenging its points, for starters. So no.
Baz, heal thyself. Sometimes you are guilty of the most vicious vitriol, e.g. witness your "closet traitors" remark from the weekend.
