As it's been 'violated'.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/sir-cliff-richard-to-sell-3million-home-violated-by-police-raid-over-sexual-assault-allegation-9761679.html

I recall at the time thinking what a monstrosity it was. It doesn't look any better the more I look at it.
It looks more like a government research facility or former Easter bloc 'holding' centre.

I have much sympathy for Cliff the way this was all handled in the media glare. I would feel grossly violated as well.

What I would add though is that there are thousands of home burglaries each year and the average joe bloggs cannot just up sticks and move on. They have to endure the misery in the same four walls, many receive counselling etc. Otherwise, victims have to sell up which can take months and months and even then never fully recover.

Oh some fictional place made-up by an architectural dreamer you think chilldoubt,it certainly looks very precarious and in danger from flooding lol.In your first choice of residence chilldoubt you would surely need a helipad, good luck on the lottery then!

yes the house on a rock is fake, discussed here.

AOG; //one has to ask what kind of person would sell up and move out just because the police had carried out a search of their property?//

I think it is the neighbourhood he now feels uncomfortable in. Locals said he was very friendly and liked to talk to everyone, he now feels as though this shadow is overhanging him in any such encounter.
I don't think it's the neighbourhood, Khandro.

Thanks for that mamy very interesting link, how easy it is to fool people!
Chilldoubt you certainly like a challenge and are either super fit or just love inaccessible places?
*** awful looking place and £3m to boot.

Must admit, I would sell up and move if Plod had rifled through my possessions and I was in his place. It was wrong, very wrong the way they did it.
I wouldn't mind betting he was already thinking about selling this place, I mean how often does he actually stay there? Now this has happened with the police, he's playing the sympathy card, 'Poor Cliff having to sell his home because of what the police did.' He has 'other residences' he's not homeless. As you may gather, I'm not a fan of his and as already mentioned, not everybody has the luxury of being able to do this for this reason.
'I would go for' - not sure how got ended up there....
@naomi...you and I have the same taste.
Better start doing the lottery!
I love the Art Deco style, so yes I like it, but it's not the best example of its kind. Eccles link shows it in a much better light.
the Dakota was where Rosemary's Baby was filmed.

Yes, not a nice feeling gthat others have been making free of your house, whether with a warrant or not. I sympathise.
The dakota building was built so far up Central Park,a round 1900 that it cwuld just as well have been in 'Dakota'

I quite liked Chilldo's interpretation of 20th century concrete as Eastern Europe People's Palace of Justice style
altho in practice they are much less well built

Michael J sold Neverland under similar circumstances

but what do people expect ? serious allegations were made against him

You cant really think the Police Sergeant to say - Oh him well everyone knows he a po===tah

I have supported someone who had had unwarranted allegation s made against him. It tears you apart. You even think - perhaps I did all that. And it is a year out of your life. And when you are acquitted, the gratitude you are meant to feel on achieving the expected acquittal - isnt there
Oh and the star of Rosemay's Baby one Mia Farrow lived in the Dakota.

When you met her said one neighbour she looked as though she were just coming out of a psychiatric facility or else on her way back in
