No they don't. The Dissolution and calling of Parliament Act was enacted in March of this year. This repealed the Fixed Term Parliament Act and reverted the constitutional position to that which existed before the FTPA was introduced. From the new Act, Section 2(1):

"The powers relating to the dissolution of Parliament and the calling of a new Parliament that were exercisable by virtue of Her Majesty’s prerogative immediately before the commencement of the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011 are exercisable again, as if the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011 had never been enacted."

So the PM simply has to ask Her Majesty to dissolve Parliament.

Unless he has resigned as PM, he could ask the Queen to dissolve Parliament still but she could refuse.
