Clearly NHS Fife's diversity and equality guidance must be very flawed. From what I can determine Dr Upton was not misgendered by Sandie Peggie, but on the contrary, she correctly gendered him.  So when are those responsible for the diversity and equality guidance, and those implementing it, going to be let go ?

When I fill out the online triage to beg an appointment at my local GP surgery I am asked what gender I was assigned at birth because that matters medically.  Ironic really.

"Cut & Tuck" does not change a person's sex. No matter how convincing the conversation looks.  The law obviously has it wrong, it tries to be compassionate to the confused and ends up pushing falsehoods and causing issues for society, and certain sections of society in particular.  It would be better if the law reflected reality first, and our moral/ethical code next.

The law actually says they must  provide "separate rooms containing conveniences...for men and women".  (The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, s20).

Whatever pieces of paper this person has been provided with by bureaucrats, instructed by idiotic politicians, however long he grows his hair and whatever clothes he wears, he is not a woman and never will be. He is, and will remain a man.

Until that basic fact is accepted and the ridiculous legislation which provides for this lunacy is repealed, these cases will prevail. That's because women do not like sharing their toilets and changing rooms with men - and no legislation will change that.
