Labour Austerity
Oh dear. The old guard aren't happy that Starmer & Reeves PLC are going further and farther than George Osborne with Austerity 2.
I wonder how many of those who rely on welfare are now regretting their election choices?

She will have to come back for more in the Autumn, prepare for actual tax rises, probably reverse the TINO cuts to NHI along with a few other measures.
Bottom line this communist woman from complaints doesnt have the first clue about econimics, not even first year by the looks of it. Appauling and in denial.
As was pointed out in the commons yesterday: Rachel Reeves is "constantly trying to blame forces beyond
her control. The right response is not to duck responsibility,
but to build a resilient economy. The right hon. Lady
would have us believe that that is what she is doing, but
how can we believe this Chancellor? How can we trust
this Chancellor? She is the Chancellor who said she
would not increase borrowing, but she did. She said she
would not change her fiscal rules, but she did. She said
she would not put up national insurance, but she did.
She said she would not cut the winter fuel payment, but
she did. She said she would not tax farmers, but she did,
and she said she would not move to more than one
fiscal event a year, and she just has. Now we are all
paying the price of her broken promises. Today’s numbers
confirm it.We are poorer and we are weaker. To govern
is to choose, and this Chancellor has made all the wrong
choices."
"She will have to come back for more in the Autumn, prepare for actual tax rises, probably reverse the TINO cuts to NHI along with a few other measures." That's too true. The OBR said that the information it received on the package of welfare cuts from Labour was late, contained insufficient detail and that the estimates are highly uncertain, and it will now have to certify them in the next forecast. This means the Government will have to go further, with even deeper cuts to welfare than they have so far announced. The incompetence of this sorry bunch is staggering. On the plus side, it's refreshing to see that Corbyn and McDonnell are protesting against Rachel Reeves and her incompetence instead of their normal pro-Hamas idiocy.
Oh my, and I thought Conservative Austerity was the ultimate calamity of our times.
Don't Panic the Labour Government are looking to the future (beyond their 5 year term) - They want everyone ultimately to be better off financially and because of that we will all be better of anxiety stress and mental health wise.
Whats the point she wouldnt listen, just like all youn lefties wont. It HAS been pointed out to her.
Then LSE is na left leaning organisation. There are plenty of other insitutions with a wider view on economics.
However you cut it or hide behind Trumps tariffs (which acytuall havnt happened to us yet) nothing she has done will help us now or in the future.
What is it you like about austerity so much roobaba? Since
Labour came into power, 25,000 more children have
been pushed into poverty due to the two-child benefit
cap. Now, according to the Government’s own impact
assessment, more than 250,000 people will be pushed
into poverty as a result of these cuts, including
50,000 children. Meanwhile Rachel from Accounts earns over £150,000 annually, wnd has accepted £7,500-worth of
free clothing and who recently took freebie tickets to see
Sabrina Carpenter, thinks that austerity 2.0 is
the change that people really voted for!
