She would now be 21.

Even if alive, I doubt the authorities could find her, she would have to discover somehow who she really is if another family had raised her.

I agree with you.  There has never been any indication that she is still alive.  They don't have to close the case but the funding could go to solving other crimes.

Disappeared in 2007 but I imagine parents will never give up the search.

That's fine Maggie but perhaps they should fund it entirely themselves

Instead of highlighting the financials,  it'd be nice, but not headline worthy, if a report could be issued on what they are actively doing.

Perhaps the wrong subject matter for banter?

At least the cops can have more jollies in Portugal now.

There are probably other abductions that are never solved but don't get this sort of publicity & funding.

Isn't a main suspect in a German jail?

That's what I thought dave, I thought it was 99% confirmed that German guy (I'm not going to give him the honour of a search) killed her and it was way back not long after the abduction. Nearly everybody with sense thinks Madeleine was killed within a few days of going missing, if I were the parent though I might cling to hope. The amount of public money given to the search over the years though is highly questionable.

Should Madelaine still be alive she will have little or no memory of her birth parents and will be settled in a new family. Whilst it is important that the person who took her is found and punished is anyone thinking about the effect it will have on Madelaine if she is found alive?
