Since Naomi will not give me the ****ing key I have decided to follow Jesus and be a Christian just like Theland. I am ashamed of my past history here so I'm going to devote the time I used to spend on ab to reading the Bible. No question really because I no longer care about what people think. I'll get all my answers from God from now on thank you.

Luna, Blimey! You are branching out! Holidays abroad, trips to London, dining out. Flipping heck! What happened? Anyone would think you'd had a well-aimed wellie placed firmly up your nether regions!

I'm very pleased you released a few of those poor moths. Be kind to animals - that's what I say - especially if you enjoy yourself in the process. Life's for living - you can't count your money after you're dead!!

Oh, I do hope you like La Boheme. Stupid thing to say really. I think you'll love it. It's one of my favourites. In fact, I think it is my favourite. I've seen it many times and the music alone has me in floods of tears. (Doesn't that sound daft? Had a lovely time at the opera - cried my eyes out!!!).

I think to appreciate Lost in Austen, you have to know the story of P&P pretty well - which of course, you don't because (dare I say it?) you haven't read the book - and more to the point, you haven't watched the video you bought goodness knows how long ago. (Watch out - wellie on its way!). It wasn't meant to be daft. It was a very clever take on P&P - and a very clever concept.

I wonder how Theland is? Theland if you are, by any chance, looking into the Sanctuary now and then, but don't feel able to get back into harness yet, could you just pop in with a word or two to tell us you're ok?

While I appreciate your answer Naomi I'm afraid my putting myself in others shoes and compassion is reserved for the kids in this instance and as such, I can't condone the opinions and the self indulgence of Theland. I'm sorry if that makes me appear harsh, it's far from the case, it's just that my sympathies extend elsewhere and I would not be me if I didn't express that.

Luna, I estimate no less than half of what education I amassed in school was derived from looking out the window. Within the classroom I was too easily distracted to learn much other than how frustrating it can be dreaming about what I saw (or didn't see) and could not have. There's my indulgence in self-pity for the day.

Luna, This thread is not my personal property. I am only guilty of initiating it. Nevertheless in what ever capacity it is my right to say, I invite, encourage and continue to look forward to your participation in what ever manner you personally deem appropriate and enjoy. For what they're worth your own is astronomically greater than a few stars.

Regarding comments directed toward comrade Theland, if I may offer my unsolicited criticism, I am of the opinion he needs to and I would venture to guess wants to hear everything that's been submitted by everyone here . . . the criticism, advice and the banter as well. I can only hope that it helps.

This may sound silly and it may be silly but I would just like to say, I'm proud of all of you and to be in such good company, otherwise I would not still be here. Theland, this includes you.

You (as everyone) are a victim or beneficiary of the beliefs you have chosen yourself to hold. I desire for all the wisdom to sort out which are which and thereby find the pathway to happiness. I believe I have benefited from the shared wisdom of and admiration for your successes and for this am grateful. None are trivial nor are our failures so ignoble if thru them we prove our ability to survive, learn and flourish.

Please have a wonderful day and I'll endeavor to do the same.
Very nicely put, mibs, if I may say so. Thank you.

China, the problem with Theland & Co is that his kids, although adult, aren't independent of him, and don't appear to want to be. They come to him with their troubles continually and he's the one who sorts them out. That seems to be how the family unit works. It's all very well to say you're on the side of the kids - I would be too if they were telling Theland to butt out - but they're not - and if they want his support, then they can't expect him not to have an opinion - albeit one they may not like. If his kids were independent, then I would agree with you wholeheartedly, but since they're not, and they have involved him, he can't help worrying - he's a caring father. I doubt he ever imagined for one moment that situations such as those he's confronted with now, and which he finds totally abhorrant, would ever arise within his own family. Additionally, in these circumstances, we have to bear in mind his religious convictions. What is happening now is in direct contradiction to his beliefs. Even though I, personally, disagree with those beliefs, and if his problems were mine, I'd adopt a very different and a far more positive attitude, Theland isn't me, and I can, therefore, understand why this has come as such a devastating blow to him.
Having an opinion on your kids lives is one thing, (whether they're independant of you or not, I still very much need my dad), I imagine my father quite often would like to string me up or lock me up... My mother (the religious one) even more so. Not being able to accept things because you have a religious or social barrier in the way is entirely another.

If your religion or a social taboo stands in the way of you being there truly for when your children need you as opposed to when they need you for financial reasons or tearing your hair out reasons then you need to reconsider your religion and the soical taboo. It doesn't mean I like Theland any less but I am completely on the other side of the fence on this one and extend the same courtesy to you all here that I do to other friends which means I will always be candid. My sympathies stay where I first placed them and I hope Theland can find a way around this.
China - From a personal point of view, I understand what you're saying completely, but we aren't all the same, we don't all think alike, and none of us is perfect.
Bit quiet on here. What are you all up to?

I emailed Theland this morning, but no reply yet.

Blimey, not you too, Luna? What is going on? This is becoming surreal. Agatha Christie and all that.

You ok, China? You ok, Starman? Hope so. At this rate, the sanctuary will be up for rent. :o(

Oops.... sorry ........ I'm still smiling ........ if there's anyone around to catch it. :o)

Julia Roberts, eat your heart out!! (Err..... don't get too excited ...... just my little joke). :o/

Hope you, Luna, and Theland, feel able to come back soon. Never forget that in the words of Scarlet O'Hara, tomorrow is another day. Put your worries behind you, sleep tight and I wish you beautiful dreams. Night everyone. x
Hey... I posted on here earlier stating that I had the plague! What happened to it?! (Well very bad cold and upset tummy). I've been in bed all day and now I can't sleep and am very bored.
Morning China, hope you're feeling better today. The plague can be pretty miserable, I hear. Achoo!

What is it with these men? Here we have a woman suffering from a severe case of the plague, and does she gripe? Course not. She simply says she's bored. Men? They have a few worries and the whole world tumbles around their ears! Come on boys, for heaven's sake sort yourselves out!

What about the frogs? Don't forget the frogs. And the boils. Cor, better not go anywhere near China and her particular plague if you're trying to avoid the boils.

Of course we all learn by experience - and when we have a bad experience (which we all do from time to time) we have to learn to put it into its proper and rational context, accept it, and then put it behind us. Dwelling on it changes nothing. Life's for living, Luna old chap, so don't let the so and so's get you down!! Welcome back!!
You can contact MIND yourself can't you honey?

Edited for brevity . . .wouldnt you know

Let Theland serve as an example of the consequences of ignoring the demands of mother nature and the call of the wild.

And remember, its your half of the human equation that is the ever present provocateur.
