Since Naomi will not give me the ****ing key I have decided to follow Jesus and be a Christian just like Theland. I am ashamed of my past history here so I'm going to devote the time I used to spend on ab to reading the Bible. No question really because I no longer care about what people think. I'll get all my answers from God from now on thank you.

Can't help you any more with the shield. Maybe you should post the question in Science. I'll bet someone there would be able to explain precisely how it works - even though it's an engineering question.

My eyes are getting better, but still look hideous.
The question is already in Science Naomi but I was having a thick moment earlier and not understanding the answers at all. Now I understand how but want to know how it moves. (This is why I rarely ask sensible question, there's always another poxy question after I get an answer).
Well Mibs, I am a very sore loser (and indeed this may also be taken quite literally if we decide to go ahead) so perhaps it's worth some further study. I've always been ambidextrous in the field of master debating so switching sides would certainly be a welcome relief as well as an interesting change in the topic but how on earth would we keep score?

I'm looking at the world through two slits. The swelling is not as bad as yesterday, but still bloody awful. I'm sure it is blistering, yet the hospital treated me for allergy. Well, I'm on the mend, it's just a good job I don't get embarrassed easily, coz these orbs are hideous.

Well it just started with a long bus journey home and being stuck on Waterloo Bridge and wondering how they got the tunnels underneath the water. It got explained in Science that it was a tunnelling shield but I didn't understand that for ages and then when I did I wanted to know how it moved forwards and now Chuck has explained that it was on a screw jack (I think that's what he said) and now I don't know how a screw jack works!

China, I really do both sympathise with you, and admire you, for not being a normal run of the mill person, but somebody who can be tortured by the sudden need to know something that is, to lesser mortals at least, obscure. This, coupled with your femininity and passion for shoes provides yet another piece of the jigsaw, and helps me to build up a picture of what you are really like.
As I said about a thousand posts ago, I do wish you would put one of your poems on here for us to read. And if it is introspective, then so much the better.
You and Naomi either live in London or within spitting distance of it, and that is just too good an opportunity to miss. You both must get together and meet over a plate of scoff in the local greasy spoon, or over a drink, and report back on your expectations / surprises on meeting up, and if Mibs lives down there as well, you might take him along also.

I really should go to the main forum and reply on the threads that are outstanding, but I don't feel up to it at the moment.
Although I think I am getting a bit better lately, I cannot summon the energy at will to concentrate on anything meaningful. Rambling is the preferred option for the time being.
My magazine subscriptions continue to stack up, unopened, as the thought of reading anything for more than ten minutes is still a no no for me.
