I forgot I had a blood test today so rushed down 5 mins late (after peeing in a hurry for a pee test
and luckily havingdone poo specimen yesterday). Didnt think they would let me in but the queue was half way down the road so was ok. Then back home relaxing and hija asks for a loan urgently so off I go to do battle with her bank as they wont allow me to do transactions without a card. Wow after waiting for 3/4 hour they let me do it via atm with no problem and affirmed that I may always do so! ( for the last 3 years they havent allowed it!)
Feel quite victorious. I do say that I have memory and dyslexic problems otherwise they are not kind! It's not too far from the truth!
it's over 30 here now, neti, and very still and sultry. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a storm on the way, so I'm keeping a close eye on the washing I've hung out. I've tried to scare the thunder away by mixing up my pegs but I don't think it's going to work.
Shaney, I hope your brother is doing better today. Its a horrible time to be ill when its hot. Its blloming warm and threatening here. Storms forecast but they blooking are everywhere. Rab tried to stand up with his back legs crossed yesterday and is achey today so we are having a lazy day. I got the jobs done early while it was a bit cool and we are sitting around. I hope all you cool cats are keeping as cool as you can
I went to pour myyself a nice cold drink but I couldn't find the ice cube tray anywhere. It's supposed to sit in the top drawer of the freezer. We pulled all the drawers out and did a fingertip search and it just wasn't anywhere, or anywhere else in the kitchen either.
We finally found it stuck to the ceiling of the freezer. When we pulled the drawer out it just stayed behind, out of sight until I had to get down on my knees to get the drawer back in again.
Hallo all
I just thought I'd try AB again before bed and whoopee,no flashing banner telling me I'm a naughty girl :)
My brother hopes to be allowed home on Friday. They seem to have him under control again.Fluid cleared etc. He's become a bit cantankerous(shades of mother)unfortunately.I had to bite my tongue a bit with him on the phone today and I've had my nieces bending my ear about him. We'll see how things pan out once he's home.
It's been awfully humid here today and storms are forecast which hopefully will clear the air a bit . I shouldn't laugh Jno but I did.
Glad to see you're all as well as and hope your loved ones are too. Night all.Keep cool.
glad your brother's getting out of the woods, shaney. Bad enough getting ill but getting cantankerous too makes it all hard work for those around him.
Looks like some of those storms may be stomping past somwhere near you, but they may drift out further into the North Sea and leave you alone. They've all missed London so far but the lawn's had a nice watering.
No Jno,the storms didn't bypass us.It sloshed down overnight and the thunder woke me up.It's still sloshing on and off today and humid with it.
My brother is moaning because the consultant has advised him not to drive for a while to see if this new medication for his heart is doing the trick and they want to monitor him.I think that's fair enough. As they say,you can't teach an old dog new tricks but I certainly won't be getting in a car with him any time soon !
Hello. Does your bro still live on his own shaney?
Island is busy busy busy even without the British. Went to Ibiza to Tesco yesterday and the roads were heaving. I definitely wont be driving anywhere soon! It's scary. Got the last jar of Marmite and they have no idea when is the next delivery as apparently beer sales are down and marmite is a by product of beer making! Come on UK drink more beer!
Mr N has painted the pool and will fill it tomorrow. Cant wait although it will be freezing. Hija us enjoying Malta. In a place called Buggiba!
Hello all
It sloshed down most of the night and is still sloshing down.Bah.
Yes Neti ,my brother lives on his own since my SiL died. He has a lady who comes in once a week to do his cleaning and a gardener too.
You'll have to eke that Marmite out I'm afraid. Exports from here to the EU have almost halved according to an article I read this morning.
Glad to see hija is enjoying herself. My Dad was stationed in Malta when he was in the army but that was a very, very long time ago.
Hope you're all OK and let's hope this torrential rain is just a blip.
Haha Neti
I got fed up with plucking and waxing my top lip and and shaving underarms and legs with fumbley fingers and a razor so I bought one of these. It's brilliant.

persisting down here too. The men's cricket was rained off but the ladies played most of the day. (Admittedly in different towns.) Went to the mall but by heck it took hours - flooded roads, school runs, broadband excavations, you name it. The shops themselves weren't too busy.
damp and nippy here too. We are going to a party tonight to farewell our nice German neighbours, who are going back home. Her father died and they've been left his house somewhere in the middle of the country, so they're going to live there. He's some sort of consultant so he can work anywhere; she's in media, so ditto.
I expect you'll be sad to see them go Jno. Do they need any lodgers or a butler :)
I often wish I had had a crystal ball after my MiL died and kept her apartment but the rent would have been a hefty sum out of our income at that time.
What a change in the weather. It's been chilly here and I've had to ditch my summer gear for trousers and jumper.I was in two minds about putting the heating on earlier but at least it hasn't rained today.
I see we've made the papers.

We live in the semi -gentrified bit ...hahaa. I'll definitely have to polish my tiaras now.
Night all.
