i have a message come up on my Samsug Galaxy J3 Mobile phone
storage almost full,
have no idea what to do,
if anyone can help would be much appreciated -

am no techie by the way, didn't know whether to just phone EE for advice, but thought try here first.

Delete apps you don't use. Back up photos and videos and transfer them to a memory card if your phone can take one, if not delete. Apps you do need and use a lot - delete, restart phone then reinstall. Some apps seem to grow and grow.

Happened to me and the answer is to delete, delete, delete or save everything to a sd card or your backup.
Delete messages on whatsapp & videos.

deleted youtube before which i don't use and not sure what else to try,

not sure that is any help

i got as far as storage and it reads as follows

available space 429mgb
system memory 3.36gb
used space 4.19 gb
cached data 23.57mb
Miscellaneous files 7.13 MB
as said not sure that is any help at all

I had that problem with a j5. Kept deleting, got a storage card...no help whatsoever. It was all the pre-installed apps taking up space. So I ended up buying a new phone when WhatsApp was no longer going to be supported.

have something called Smart Manager
storage 94 percent it indicates
unnecessary data 0mb
system/user data 7.6gb
457 mb free

I used to have to go settings>>>apps...then go into each app and clear cache and unnecessary data. It helped a bit.

There is no need to delete any of your WhatsApp messages or videos, but there is a good reason to save them, as you may want the info held on WhatsApp in the future.

Go into WhatsApp..
Click on settings..
Click on Chats..
Scroll right down and click on chat back up.
Do this just before you change to a new phone if you go down that route. Rightly so as Pasta says many older phones are no longer supported by Whatsapp. It is just a case of reinstalling it on your new phone and all your messages will be there.. Just as they were on your old phone.

no chance of buying a new phone if all the shops are shut. EE is just around the corner and as far as i know are non essential shops so most likely they are shut

I've checked the specs and your phone does support a micro SD card up to 256 GB. That will boost the amount of available storage and bec cheaper than a new phone

confess i don't know what a sd card is or where to get such, online perhaps? I am awful at tech stuff.
