I don't think there's a statutory period, but obviously as the company is suspending you (and paying you for staying at home and doing nothing ) they should be aiming to complete the process as quickly as possible. Depending on any internal investigations which need to be done, i.e. interviewing other witnesses if misconduct has been committed, an efficient company would probably try and complete the process within a week. If individual witnesses are working different shifts or on holiday it might take a little longer.
