Sitting watching the end of Dingledale and waiting for Corrie when a great selection of ads were broadcast, toilet rolls, lady with a problem, a lady who wee's a lot, what has happened to loans and DFS sale ?
When Countdown is on, not only do the adverts show the target audience to be in a home, but Nick Hewer even speaks slowly and clearly so they can keep up.
I can't stand all the scary Cancer adverts on at the moment, my thoughts are with those who actually have just been for cancer results or just having tests. Do they need these adverts to remind them? I agree with supporting financially the work of these charities but not in this way.
Ann I couldn't agree more in fact I think they should be regulated to the point of being drastically cut. They are constant, you can barely go an hour without one. Apart from causing worry to hypos like me once you or someone you know has been diagnosed then this is just a constant reminder.
I don't think that they'll sell much cancer. Personally I try to miss as many adverts as possible. Meanwhile I find daytime TV is 'background company'. One need not be actually watching.
it is strange that daytime TV is much better than prime time, the downside are the ads so repetitive what is worse i watch a lot of 5USA and the repetition of plugs for programmes is like torture. every ad break at least 2 mins. the same thing time after time! CBS action is just as bad! when i was a teen and in my twenties ads were brilliantly made and very entertaining, a lost art!
Regarding the cancer adverts I mentioned oreviously, I have just seen two on TV tonight! Very depressing especially as I have been to a friend's funeral today!
