There seems to be dozens of them every day but these stories are hardly ever covered by other newspapers. Why?

Because, like nearly all the articles in the Express, they are made up. The Express doesn't actually have any journalists.

I agree about having no journalists. Occasionally I buy The Express on a Monday to do the £1,000 crossword, and I always notice the number of stories flagrantly lifted from the weekend editions of 'proper' newspapers.
