Hyacinth Bucket(Sorry Bouquet)

I have just been watching a film called"Don't take it to heart" circa 1944.In it a family in the village are called(and spelled) Bucket but insist on Bouquet.The villagers call them Bucket.It's obvious that this is where the scriptwriter"RoyClarke" of "Keeping Up Appearances" got his idea.

Maybe Hyacinth's family originally hailed from the village ?
Bucket or Bouquet wore very thin after a while .Just wondering was it ever shown written in the prog as I don't know what it was .Persume it was bucket or was that not so .
