You could cover it in crushed peppercorns for a classic pepperd steak.
Alternatively tenderise it and cut it into strips and fry it (use butter for frying). In a separate pan fry some onions and mushrooms with paprika until soft. Add some soured cream to the onions and mushrooms, also add the steak. Cook until the cream is warmed thorough. Serve with boiled rice. Voila! Beef Stroganoff.
Hi pinkie, a really lovely sauce, well I like it anyway, get some single cream or double, when you have finished frying steak, pour cream into frying pan add a big spoonful of french Mustard and mix with the juices from the steak, go ,on you will like it,I hope,if you don't it was someone else who told you OK !!!!
My mind just went blank - but i find the bbc website and sainsburys website usually has some nice recipes on them!
I also watched a programme on c4 a few months ago that had fillet steak stuffed with mushrooms! obviouslys the mushrooms were all mashed like!
But in this weather, quickness is best so I would go with Raysparx idea which I may be trying in the near future!!
why spoil the taste of a lovely piece of meat, just tenderise and slap it under the grill. May as well get a cheap cut if you wanna mess around. I sometimes push some crushed peppercorns in before grilling, but nothing else
bash it a bit with a basher, rub oil onto it and not the pan, and serve...
with blue cheese sauce, onions cooked in balsamic vinegar and chips... cor yes please!!
