I have washed aforesaid jumper today with a tissue up the sleeve! I now have a lovely dark blue jumper covered in tiny white bits of tissue!

I have tumble dried it and the bits are still there. B*****!

Any tips on retrieving it?

Just seen this on the internet Tilly ................ Place the tissue-covered clothing in hot water. Get a plastic bucket, and put four aspirin tablets into the water. The amount of water is dependent on the amount of clothing, but typically you would use 2 gallons. Aspirin melts tissue so they say and doesn't harm the fabric

would 600mg of ibuprofen have worked better?
Useful tip to know.
Oh wow! Who'd have thought that would work?

It was a bit disconcerting when I put the jumper in the water. It seemed to be covered in bits of undissolved aspirin! It looked even worse.

I left it in soak for two hours.
Wow! Worth knowing that!
Lol.. jno!!

Jno, Sqad might know the answer to that. :-)
Great tip, I'm always doing that. Did you use dissolving aspirin Tilly?
If it "cost a fortune" why on earth did you put in the tumble dryer rather than putting it on the line for a good blow which would have got rid of most of the bits of tissue????
Glad it worked, Tilly.....and what a brilliant tip to know for the future.....thanks, Mazie..x
Jno - 'let it go, Tilly, tissues are easy and cheap to replace.'

I want jno's babies.
it's a win win, no more bits on your jumper and it won't get a headache

Diddly, It had been out on the line. I put it in the tumble dryer to try to remove the bits. That usually works.

I just used ordinary aspirin, Margo.

It gave me a headache trying to shift the tissue, Ael, but I ran out of aspirin!
So pleased it worked Tilly. Next wash maybe put a couple more in to he rid of the last few bits xx
shoota, I regret I have but one baby to give my country, and he's 8 foot tall and hungry, but if you post an email address I'll send him over.
