I have voted Labour for fifty years, and for years was an associate member of the Labour Party. A one time Young Socialist.
Now I have a problem. Putting international and national issue on the back burner, I just want my wheelie bin emptied regularly.
But, although my council postal vote is sitting on the mantelpiece, I find it difficult to give support to the Labour Party now, after their disgraceful failure to deal with antisemitism.
Who is best at emptying bins?
Congratulations for identifying which bit of government is about bins. The hotchpotch of different local type authorities we have in the UK it's not easy to see where the boundaries between one and another lie. Even worse trying to understand the candidates and what they wish to achieve.
I think you'll find they are all keen to spend less money by using what you are forced to pay for things other than the services you want as priority, and from past experience, are clearly still paying paying for.
Around here they take the money for bin collection and now-a-days insist you pay again for the garden refuse. But that's because they have no scruples and find ridiculous excuses to do so. (I'm still waiting for my refund for all the local services I don't use as apparently that's important.)
" We have a Conservative Council - always have had- " Well that is nice to know,
The Cons are better at emptying bins than Labour . Vote Conservative,
we are The Rubbish Party. PMSL.
The council is going to contract the bin emptying out to the cheapest bidder , it make no difference which political party the council is. No council that I know of employs its own workmen to do anything now. All work is subcontracted to the lowest bidder.
