Had a lovely surprise in the post. A catalogue I have an account with has sent me a cheque for over 600 quid for PPI payments. I knew I'd taken PPI out with them so didn't claim as I'd agreed to it. Apparently the FCA decided their policy was "flawed" so it's all been refunded. Vimto all round on me!

I didn't bother claiming a PPI refund from the Monument card I used to have as
(a) I didn't regard the PPI as being 'missold' ; and
(b) I didn't think the sum would amount to much anyway.

When I got a letter from the firm who'd taken over Monument, inviting me to apply for a refund, I ignored it for ages as I thought that it was probably just yet another bit of PPI spam. However many months later, I decided to look at the website mentioned in the letter. To access it I had to enter the code given in the letter but that's as far as I intended to go. (i.e. I still didn't intend to claim). However as soon I'd entered the code I saw a message saying "Thank you for your claim, which is now being processed". A few weeks later I received a cheque for £3000 ;-)

Well done, Messalina......I received about a thousand from something the late MrG had done....I was completely lost about it....couldn't ask him of course.......don't know how they found me....but I let them sort it.....and bought wine and shoes.... :-)

I have only just seen this thread
and I like some of you just got fed up with the phone calls
so one of them I said yes just send me the forms
I signed them and few months later received £3000+
ok I was awarded more but I really did not expect anything
as I claimed on my ppi
I have just had another call saying I could be owed more
so again send me the forms

what can you lose ?

Thanks Messalina. Used to have an account with a home shopping catalogue company a few years back, which I had forgotten all about.
Sent them a letter shortly after reading this thread, and got a cheque on friday for £900.
