In my view, a lot of the "humourous" clips on Youtube are blatant abuse of animals [and] children (as were some "You've Been Framed" submissions). I like this one though because of the vengeful ending (I hope Max let her know just how he felt)

I posted it because, although it made me laugh, it is showing a dog who is not happy. I have not regaled anyone.

As I said, those types of video show dogs whose owners can't really understand their dogs.
I see, you posted it as a training aid to dog owners :-)
The dubbing is clever - and funny - and it made me laugh. So shoot me. Sheesh!
Or maybe those thinking of getting a dog, or even those who think they know their doggo but could know them even better

I think you need to be able to psychologically assess a dog to be able to own one. IE, prove you know it's basic needs / moods and signs of these.
Bet you're sorry you posted this, Tilly. ;o)

Thankfully, unhappy animals never make me laugh.....I've not looked at the video as I've seen it before. Not funny at all -look at the poor dogs eyes.

No not sorry, Naomi. Some interesting replies here.
Dog yawns can be a sign of relaxation in dogs, also a sign of stress. happy yawns are like happy tail wags, the muscles are relaxed and the eyes are soft. This dog's face muscles are tight. Its pretty much the same as people. People yawn, smile and so on when they are feeling stressed and uncomfortable as well as when they feel happy and relaxed.
cool lets all shoot naomi :) we could video it and add a funny script....that would make it fine.

Who has said 'It's fine'?
Woofgang means it. Never let it be said she has no sense of humour. ;o)

That went well.

Just saying.

Canary - how is that cruel? I'm always telling my cat 'no'
And how is filming a dog jumping for a ball or a cat falling off a table (which my cat does loads) how is that cruel?
ummmm, I don't believe I've designated either of your examples as cruel, please don't extrapolate my views into irrelevant cases.

I'm not going to link any examples because I don't wish to give them the oxygen of publicity.
Seriously? How does a cat just 'fall off a table' to command. Was the person just waiting for days with their phone until the cat fell of the table? No, animals are aggravated to the point they do something that is worthy of you tubing. I could poke one of my horses with a stick until it pulled the most horrendous faces then dub it over with a 'humorous' voice. I may get thousands of hits for 'sidney snotbox or 'grumpy horse'. That would not make it funny or cruelty free.
As it is one of my horses does pull the most horrendous faces behind your back which I find very funny as he stops the minute I turn around, but its not provoked, its natural.
and it made me laugh. So shoot me. Sheesh!

Same here, naomi.

I thought that cats could never be trained ( amazing what a treat will do ).
It depends what you are laughing at doesn't it? Provoking or aggravating an animal for a good video is not funny. Training animals to do tricks willingly , then filming them , can be.
AL...they don't but some cats are predictable.
