Anyone know where I can get some blank DVD discs that hold movies longer than 120mins?
A disc of 150 mins would be ideal.

The capacity of a DVD disc is measured in GB or MB or bytes, not in minutes.

If you use the correct software you'll be able to compress/re-encode the video that you have so that it fits on your DVD disc. The latest version fo Nero can do it. An older version with NeroVision Express can also.
or you can buy the dual layer ones if your writer will support them. You can get approx 4 hours of standard play video on these.
Well actually a DVD is measured in Gigabytes AND minutes. Just like a CD is measured in Megabytes AND minutes. But you are basically correct stevie21, I'm just being picky!

I use DVD2ONE software to compress/remove subtitles etc...but there's lots of software that can do it.

really..ok thanks for that..il check that one out..
How many minutes is a DVD then? Doesn't that depend on the video quality?
Yes it does depend on quality...1hr on HQ, 2hrs on SP etc etc...going by standalone DVD recorder settings of course.

Here's something interesting...you know how you can get what is it, 74mins audio on a 650mb CDR? Well the VCD format works along the same principles. You can get 74mins of Mpeg VCD on a 74min CDR EVEN if the file itself is OVER 650mb!

It's been a while since I've dabbled with VCD/SVCD etc but I think that's right.
