would refuse to ask for an extension if he and his advisers thought it was illegal? I am convinced he knows exactly what he can and can't do. Doesn't Article 50 state that the EU have the final say of which we are still part?

He has since stated “They just passed a law that would force me to beg Brussels for an extension to the Brexit deadline. This is something I will never do.”
The EU will dictate whether the request is acceptable.
