Yes and no. Physically demanding indeed, but it didn't last very long. I've only got a small raised bed and a few tubs for vegetables - you don't need a lot - this summer I've had potatoes, carrots, lettuce, kale, radishes, tomatoes, spinach, broccoli, and butternut squash.
Plus a few herbs of course. I made the mistake of planting the mint in open ground - and it's trying to take over as usual !
Only one failure this year, sweet potatoes.
