Every December I buy a new, butterfly tin opener, just in case.

Many years ago on Christmas Day I tried to open a tin and failed miserably. Mind you, I cannot remember now what was in the tin, says a lot about me ;)

Bobbi, I hope you get everything you want. It is always a lucky dip when I shop in the Co-op and I cannot see the week before Christmas being any different.

RH, just had an Amazon delivery this week of an electric tin opener for OH who tried to open a tine of baked beans and merely succeeded in puncturing the can. I had to eat them the next day!
Lol I had one and dumped it could never get it to grip
Most tins are ring pull now aren't they?
Question Author
Not all, hoppy. But I have got a ring-pull opener too.

RH, good job I haven't wrapped it as a present then :D
About 50/50
So far so good Choux , Mr B is going to Marksies first thing tomorrow morning for a roulade and a lemon meringue tart and a cheeseboard , other than that everything will be fresh and bought in our village fruit shop , we already have prawns in the freezer, I got them yesterday

I got prawns in Waitrose yesterday, but if I self-isolate I shall be ok for 25th ;)

When I entered the shop I had a big smile on my face as I had just remembered what Stephen Fry said about Sainsburys:

"Sainsburys, wonderful supermarket, they keep the riff-raff out of Waitrose!"

I hasten to add that I rarely shop in Waitrose, but I did have a £10 voucher in store customers only in last Sunday's newspapers. At least I got my newspapers free today, ta Waitrose.
It’s not a shop I go into much either Choux
I love Waitrose, unfortunately we don’t have them here so I get my fix when I visit my Stepmum

Bobbi and RH, my nearest is a good few miles away but if I want to treat myself I usually can in there, but at a price of course. They do seem to have really pleasant checkout staff though, never met a miserable one there yet.
