Why are more and more drama makers using screen shots of mobile/smart phones as part of the production? Not all of us have big screen high definition tellies! Added to which these messages are usually vital to the plot but are only on screen for a very short time.
Is it just me or are others struggling to keep up with what is happening?
I agree. And if you’re not used to reading a phone screen they don’t allow for the extra time to read it (ie. if you don’t have a mobile phone you’re not used to reading messages)
I find it very annoying too. We've even tried pausing the screen but still have to actually stand up and get close to the TV to read what it says. Why can't the use a sub title?
I agree. The last thing we want is a large TV. We don't like TVs being prominent in rooms. Bigger is not better for us! And even if you can pause, we can't see what mobile phones show.
Fair enough if you only have a small room or its not hung on the wall. Our 65" was probably a mistake, should have gone for 75" as it still would have not taken the room over.
From what I hear, large screen high definition TVs are generally favoured for watching sport and films. However a number of the younger generation tell me they favour tablets and the like for personal use to view dramas. They may be adept at reading messages but they would need a magnifying glass!
Our television is among books on a shelf and doesn't take up any room space! We just don't want a big television. Our room is 27ft X 13ft. I think our television is 24"!! We just don't like big televisions that form part of the furniture or are focal points. Ok in a cinema room I suppose. Each to his own.
I have a 32 inch more than enough in my view. But I would say anything above 42 inch is no more than a prestige statement, like a lot of things now. I have got to have bigger.
