Queen Elizabeth 11

Thank you Poorclare.Am I correct in thinking that Florence Nightingale was the 2nd.?
The monarch was first portrayed on british bank notes in 1963, but Britannia had been there since 1694.
You could argue that apart from the Queen Brittania was the first female pictured on a banknote.
I think you're right about Florence Nightingale (if we discount Britannia!). She appeared in 1994: St Cecilia - patron saint of music - appeared alongside Edward Elgar & Worcester Cathedral in 1999, and Elizabeth Fry in 2002.
