ach awful for you - especially when you get yourself all keyed-up and then let down - that happened to my friend (cancer) - operations actually cancelled when she was on the hospital bed - so at least you are home.  sorry Barsel

Oh Noooo ,so sorry to hear this Barsel ,did you know about the water infection or did it just show up in yr pre op tests?

Thanks Anne. No, no new date for surgery. It has already been cancelled before because they discovered I had Cellulitis, (leg infection) and had to have antibiotics for that and then wait 6 weeks before I could be considered for the op again.

I expect the same thing will happen again.

That news must have been so disappointing, Barsel.  Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long for another operation date. x

When I went for my pre-op last Wednesday, I told the nurse I felt I might have a UTI so I did a sample and she said it looked fine, very clear and a good colour.

What gets me is, why does it take a week before they tell you this? 

You'd think that is something they would test the same day.

I'm now beginning to wonder if this is a sign I shouldn't have it done.

Sorry to hear this. Unfortunately it takes a few days for an infection to show on a culture taken of a sample and for the appropriate antibiotic to be determined

Try not to be despondent Barsel ,finish the course of antibiotics and give them a call

To be honest, I kept thinking I would get a call to say it's been cancelled because of the doctors' strike, and I expect that will put a lot of operations on hold.
