When Did You Last Go To A Newsagents?
I haven't been in a newsagents for years - don't need change for the bus, nor a packet of fags at 7am. I subscribe to magazines so they are delivered.
The newsagents local to me is next to a Spar which is open longer and sells sweets and chocolates. Thinking about it, it must be 20 years or more for me

My local shopping area is very small but has a Spar, small Sainsbury's, greengrocer, butcher, bakery, greasy spoon cafe, tearoom and a newsagents. As well as a charity shop, several barbers and hairdressers, a library, post office and a craft shop. A tattoo artist and vape shop, a hardware/pet shop.
I don't know how the newsagents keeps going.
An Aldi will be joining them soon. It really is just a small row of shops on a narrow road
our newsagent stopped delivering 20 years ago or more - modern parents would sooner pay their kids pocket money than send them out into the snow at 7am a prey to local weirdos. I don't blame them, but it did rob the newsagents of their USP.
Several have surived, all the same, despite competition from the local mini-Sainsbury; being near the station helps.
