Im at work and my car alarm was sounding once every minute so I went outside to look. The engine was chugga chugga'ing (even though its just parked there) and the alarm was still going off every minute just once.
I tried to use my key pad but it didnt work, so I opened door with the key. Now everything is dead, no engine turnover, nothing.
Sounds like it has been immobilised as it was probably locked with the key fob but unlocked with the key. Sometimes the key fob needs resetting. With mine I have to hold down the unlock button for 5 seconds and then tap it once or twice, or maybe the batteries are dead. Even though a light may show when you press it, it may not have enough juice to do the job.
After replacing batteries you may have to do the 5 second thing to get it to work.
I havent unlocked it with the key.
It was sounding one blast of the alarm so I went out to look and the engine was making this noise.
When I went to use the key fob, it didnt work and so I unlocked with the key and now nothing works.
I think the alarm sound was a kind of warning about something about to pack up.
I wish !
The trouble is that I seem to have real problems rather than tiny ones, I think Im the opposite of an attention seeker. I go for years with a problem.
Yeah my car has a body and the soul comes from the radio !
Hey thanks for the answers - even the ones at the end - turns out I was having a "blonde" moment and left the lights on - doh.
